Day 1: Arrival in Base Camp at Village Chheti near Naggar

  • This is the first day of the expedition. Participants will be picked up from Patlikuhl in the morning and transported to the base camp located in Village Chheti near Naggar.
  • Upon arrival, the participants will have time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Acclimatization is crucial for minimizing the risk of altitude-related illnesses as the expedition progresses
Day 2: Base Camp to Dhundi and Trek to Bakarthach/Luhali Thach

Altitude: 10,105 feet-11,155 feet

  • The day begins with a drive from the base camp to Dhundi.
  • From Dhundi, the trek continues to Bakarthach/Luhali Thach. This involves hiking through picturesque terrain, likely with varying levels of difficulty depending on the route chosen.
Day 3: Bakarthatch/Luhali Thatch to Lady Leg Base Camp

  • After practice and acclimatization, the group will move to the Summit Camp. This campsite is likely closer to the peak and serves as a base for the final summit push.
Day 5: Summit Camp to Friendship Peak Summit and Back to Lady Leg Base Camp

  • The highlight of the expedition: the summit attempt on Friendship Peak. The day begins early to maximize daylight and favorable weather conditions.
  • Participants will ascend to the summit, enjoy the panoramic views from the top, and then descend back to the Summit Camp.
  • After descending to the Summit Camp, the group will continue the descent to Lady Leg Base Camp, where they will spend the night.
Day 6: Reserve Day
  • This day serves as a buffer in case of any unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or unexpected delays during the ascent.
  • It can also be used for additional acclimatization if needed.
Day 7: Lady Leg Base Camp to Dhundi and Drive to Base camp Chheti

  • The descent continues from Lady to Dhundi.
  • From Dhundi, participants will be driven back to the base camp in Village Chheti, marking the end of the expedition portion of the journey.

  • The final day of the itinerary. Participants will check out from the base camp after breakfast, concluding their adventure in the mountains.

By Air:

  • The nearest airport to Chetti Naggar is Bhuntar Airport, also known as Kullu-Manali Airport (IATA: KUU). Once you land at Bhuntar Airport, you’ll need to travel by road to reach
  • Chetti Naggar, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. You can hire a taxi or use public transport like buses. The journey typically takes around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic conditions.

By Road:

  • From Delhi: Chetti Naggar is approximately 500 kilometers from Delhi. To travel by road, you can either drive yourself or hire a taxi. The route takes you through cities like
  • Chandigarh, Mandi, and Kullu. It usually takes around 12-14 hours to cover this distance, depending on traffic and road conditions.
  • From Manali: If you’re starting your journey from Manali, Chetti Naggar is around 20-25 kilometers away. You can hire a taxi or use local buses to reach Chetti Naggar from
  • Manali. The journey typically takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours by road.

By Train:

  • The nearest major railway station to Chetti Naggar is Chandigarh Railway Station. From Chandigarh, you’ll need to continue your journey by road, either by taking a bus or hiring a taxi. The distance between Chandigarh and Chetti Naggar is around 300 kilometers, and it usually takes around 8-9 hours to cover this distance by road.
  • Alternatively, you can take a train to Joginder Nagar Railway Station, which is the nearest narrow gauge railway station. However, after reaching Joginder Nagar, you’ll still need to travel by road to reach Chetti Naggar, which is approximately 130 kilometers away.
